Supported by MOFCOM, organized by University of International Business and Economics(UIBE), and co-organized by Stanford Center of International Development, WTO, World Bank and IDE-JETRO, the 2014 and 2015 GVC workshops were successfully held in Beijing.  World-class scholars, such as the leading researcher in New New Trade Theory, Professor Pol Antràs (Harvard University), Editor-in-chief of Vox, elected Member of the Council of the European Economic Association, and Senior Staff Economist for the President's Council of Economic Advisors in the Bush Administration, Professor Richard Baldwin, Director of the Center on Globalization, Governance and Competitiveness of Duke University, Professor Gary Gereffi, Chief Economist at the USITC, Professor Robert Koopman, the Designer of the Asia IO Database, Senior Research Fellow of IDE-JETRO, Professor Satoshi Inomata, and the distinguished research fellow of CGE model, Professor John Whalley (University of Western Ontario London CANADA) were invited to deliver their speeches and lectures. College teachers and doctoral students from UIBE, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Xiamen University, Wuhan University, Nankai University, University of Hong Kong, National Chiayi University of Taiwan, University of British Columbia, University of Dhaka and Thammasat University of Thailand, researchers from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Development Research Center of the State Council, State Information Center, MOFCOM and National Development and Reform Commission attended the workshops.
