Robert Koopman is currently Hurst Senior Professorial Lecturer in the Politics, Government, and Economics Department, School of International Service, American University and is serving as the University of Industry and Business Economics’ Editor in Chief of the 2025 Global Value Chain Development Report.  He previously served as WTO Chief Economist and Director, Economic Research and Statistics Division, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Economist at the United States International Trade Commission.  He also held leadership and research positions at the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Institutes of Food and Agriculture and the Economic Research Service.
