Alonso de Gortari

Alonso de Gortari is currently a Postdoctoral researcher in the International Economics Section at Princeton University and specializes on the economic impacts of globalization. His recent work includes developing tools to better measure the fragmentation of production across countries. He has used these tools to better understand the implications of trade policy in the NAFTA region and, in particular, has shown that US-Mexican supply chains are much more integrated than previously thought. Before joining Princeton, Alonso obtained a bachelor and master’s degree from ITAM in Mexico City and a master’s and PhD degree from Harvard University. He will be joining Dartmouth College as an assistant professor of economics in July 2019.
