Chang Gene H

 

      Gene Chang is currently an honorary research fellow of Chinese University of Hong Kong, Senior Advisor to the Dean of GVC Research Institute, Univ. of International Business and Economics, Beijing, China. He is Professor Emeritus and the former Director of the Asian Studies Institute at University of Toledo, USA.

      He received B.A. degree at Fudan University, China, 1982; M.A. in Asian studies at the University of California, Berkeley, 1984; and Ph.D. in Economics at U. Michigan, 1989.

      He served as the Dean of the School of Public Economics and Administration at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in China. He has held other visiting or honorary positions including those at Harvard University, Fudan University (China), the Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Warsaw in Poland, Shanghai Academy of Social Science, etc.

      Chang is specialized in International Economics, Economic Development, and Comparative Economics. He has numerous publications on the economic development, Chinese economy and modeling for policy research. His published books include an advanced economics textbook of CGE modeling. He is a former president of Chinese Economist Society and former co-editor of China Economic Review. He is regularly invited to speak on or interviewed by overseas media as China experts on the global economic and business situations, and contributor to International Economy on global development issues.
