Mr. Satoshi Inomata is a Chief Senior Researcher of Development Studies Center, the Institute of Developing Economies, Japan External Trade Organization (IDE-JETRO). He received his B.A. in Politics and Economics from the University of London and M.Sc. in Development Economics from the University of Oxford. He has been involved in the construction of the Asian International Input-Output Tables (AIOT) for 1990, 1995 and 2000. In 2007, he organized and directed a new project, alongside of the 2005 AIOT, for constructing the 2005 BRICs International Input-Output Table that covers BRICs economies plus Japan, the US and the EU.

 

Mr. Inomata’s recent research included in-depth reviews of cross-border production networks in the Asia-Pacific region using input-output techniques. In 2011, he co-edited and authored Trade Patterns and Global Value Chains in East Asia: From Trade in Goods to Trade in Tasks, a joint publication of the WTO and IDE-JETRO,

He is a member of the Council Board of the International Input-Output Association, of the Editorial Board of Economic Systems Research, and of the Editorial Board of the United Nations Handbook of Input-Output Table.

 

As an author or co-author, some of his selected works are Asia beyond the Global Economic Crisis: The Transmission Mechanism of Financial Shocks, Trade patterns and global value chains in East Asia: From Trade in Goods to Trade in Tasks, Frontiers of International Input-Output Analysis, Trade in Value-added: East Asian Perspective, and Geometry of Global Value Chains in East Asia: the role of industrial networks and trade policies.
