Hong MA is Associate Professor in Department of Economics, SEM, Tsinghua University, and faculty of the Tsinghua-INSEAD program. Before that he was Assistant Professor in Department of Economics, SEM, Tsinghua University. Hong MA got his B.A.degree from Fudan University, and his Ph.D. degree from University of California.
He has published articles on The Organization of Firms in a Global Economy, Macroeconomic Dynamics, The World Economy, etc. His recent papers include “How do Exchange Rate Movements Affect Chinese Exports: A Firm-Level Investigation”(with Hongbin Li, Yuan Xu,and Yanyan Xiong); “Measuring China’s Trade Liberalization: A Generalized Measure of Trade Restrictiveness Index”(with Bo Chen).
His major ongoing research projects are: Exchange Rate Exposure and Firm Heterogeneity (with Yuan Xu); Domestic Value-Added in China’s Exports and Its Distribution by Firm Ownership (with Pieter Bottelier, Zhi Wang, and Kunfu Zhu); Prepare to Export (with de Astarloa, Xue Bai, and Kala Krishna).
